New Vehicle “Break-In” Ignition Positions

With the ignition key in the ignition switCh. you can turn the switch to five different positions.


Your rehiele doesn‘t need an elaborate “break-in.” But it will perform better in the long run It‘ you follow these guidelines:

I Don’t drive at any one speed -- fast or slow --- [or the first Stll] miles {305 km}. Don’t make full-throttle starts.

0 Avoid melting hard stops for the first 260 miles (322 km J or so. During this time your new brake linings aren‘t yet broken in. Hard stops with new linings can mean premature wear and earlier replacement. Follow this breaking-in guideline eve r}; time you get new brake linings.

I Don‘t tow a trailer during break-tn.
